
Jacq’s Biography
Jacq is a young lyric tenor based in Dublin, Ireland.
Jacq has always had a deep love for music, but it wasn't until the age of 18 that he fully embraced his passion and decided to pursue a career in the performing arts. Recently, he graduated from the Royal Irish Academy of Music with first-class honours, marking the beginning of a promising professional journey.
During his studies, Jacq trained under esteemed teachers and coaches, most notably studying under Owen-Gilhooly, David Adams and Grainne Dunne developing a robust foundation in vocal performance.
Jacq has competed in numerous singing competitions, achieving significant recognition. He was awarded the ‘Patricia Eberhart Aria Prize' at the RIAM for best aria performance, he has competed in many Feis Ceoil competitions gaining high marks, winning 1st place in the Milne Cup This year 2024. Also competing in ‘Derry Feis 2024 Jacq Achieved 3rd place in the C.V Stanford Bursary Competition £1000 prize’. Not only classical music Jacq also competed in his first ever Feis Ceoil back in 2022 and came 2nd in the Senior Musical Theatre & Rathmines & Rathgar Cup.
Jacq notably performed the role of ‘The Suitor’ in the Irish premiere of Elizabeth Maconchy’s opera, The Sofa.
Jacq has performed many main roles in the RIAM throughout his years of study. These include ‘I cavalieri liberati’ and ‘le piante incantate’ Francesca Caccini's Alcina, and 'Armelinde' in the innovative and gender-bent production of Pauline Viardot's Cenderillon, in the Project Arts Theatre, Dublin.
Jacq has performed in opera snapshots as Pedrillo in Mozart's 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail' and Eisenstein in Strauss's 'Die Fledermaus'. As well as scenes from Così Fan Tutte playing Ferrando. He also has performed in Chamber Fest, presenting selections from Schumann's 'Liederkreis'.
With a strong educational foundation, extensive performance experience, and a commitment to continuous growth, Jacq is poised to make a significant impact in the world of Muisc and beyond.
Jacq has gone from strength to strength this season, being a finalist in the Bernadette Grey Bursary for singers in the National Concert Hall, and a finalist in the upcoming Wicklow Male Voice Choir Bursary Competition.
